Now, let’s see some tips to start decluttering your workplace. Then you can use these same tips to declutter other areas of your home.
Start small
Decluttering a whole space can feel too big, but you can break this big task into smaller steps. Declutter little by little, start with one area like your desk, then continue with your shelves etc.
Identify which items you need
When you’re decluttering an area identify which items you actually need and which one you can throw or donate. Don’t get emotional when you are making this decision. Be as ruthless as possible. If you are struggling with an item; you don’t know if you need it or not then it certainly means you don’t actually need it.
Use dividers and shelves wisely
Dividers and shelves are extremely useful to organize your paperwork, materials and other stuff. But don’t use them to “hide” things you don’t want to see on your desk.
Yes, sure it might make your office look cleaner and organized but mentally you will know that some things are not where they should be, which will add up to your mind clutter.
Put items back at their respective place
When you’re done using it. Don’t leave that paper on your desk if that’s not where it belongs because that’s how clutter starts. It takes less than 30 seconds to do it, so do it immediately. Following the 2-minute rule can help you declutter daily
