How to start your journaling journey today

After hearing about journaling 100 times a day you finally decided to give it a try..but you don’t know where to start ?

Starting a journal is an amazing way to write down your thoughts and emotions especially if you’re prompt to stress and anxiety. The more you write about your feelings, thoughts, ideas the more likely you are to take action to change your life.
I did a previous post on the benefits of journaling that you can check

Today we will talk about how to actually START and what to write. You might feel like you don’t have time for journaling or wonder “what’s the point of writing?”

Well, you actually don’t need a lot of time to write. I’m pretty sure you can find 5 minutes a day. Instead of scrolling on social media you can take your journal and start writing. Consistency is key to create a habit.

How to start journaling ?

First, you can start by choosing your journaling materials. Maybe you are more of a traditional journal type of person or maybe you would prefer a digital journaling app. Find something you are comfortable using daily.

There are no rules to start journaling but here I will give you some common options:

option 1:

Write anything that comes to your mind. It can be about your current feelings, the weather, your goals, what you’ve done today. Don’t try to control your thoughts, let them flow. Don’t think about the structure or anything else just write.

option 2:

Starting a gratitude journal is a great way to realize the positive aspects of your life. Take a few minutes to write down “what are 3 things you are grateful for ?”

option 3:

One of the most efficient ways to use journaling to change your life and reach your goals is to answer powerful questions to guide you on your journey.

“What does my future look like in 5 years from now if I don’t change anything ?”
“What does my life look like in 5 years from now if I take different actions ?”
“What does my life look like in 5 years from now If I don’t have to worry about money or others ?”

Option 4

Give a number from 1 (very unsatisfied)  to 10 (very satisfied) about different domains of your life: Health, Career, Relationship, Finance, Quality of life, Intellectual, Spiritual

And note down what you can do to improve and get closer to a 10 for each aspect of your life.

Tip: Don’t forget to date your entries to track your growth but most of all make it an enjoyment moment for yourself
