Limit distractions
The first thing to let boredom occur in your day is to limit distractions, especially screen time. Being constantly on your phone, or PC, watching videos, scrolling on social media etc stop you from taking advantage of your boredom. Set aside short breaks during the day and use this free time to engage in activities that allow your mind and body to recharge and relax
Embrace solitude
Spending time alone gives you plenty of time to let your mind wander and to allow yourself to simply exist and enjoy self-care moments like a walk in nature, meditation, journaling.. Solitude is a great opportunity for mindful activities and to connect with yourself.
Enjoy a hobby
Take a few times a week to let your creativity flow and explore hobbies without any specific goals in mind like doodling, painting, taking photos, playing an instrument. Engaging in unstructured activities help your mind relax and give yourself space for inspiration and problem solving.
Don’t overbook yourself
It’s easy to fill your schedule with a long to-do list and different tasks to keep yourself busy. Trying to be busy or productive all the time by overbooking your calendar is a way to avoid boredom and it can be counterproductive.
Block off some “boredom time” in your calendar. Use this time to engage in mindful and relaxing activities.
Incorporating moments of boredom in your daily life is a powerful way to cultivate creativity, mindfulness and find a balance in your life.
