1. Regularly exercising
Having a regular activity is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Take a moment everyday to move your body comes with many benefits like: reducing cardiovascular diseases, the risk of diabetes, and cancer. Physical activities also boost your energy level and mood.
Find something that you enjoy doing so it will be easier to create a habit.

We all know the importance of eating healthy meals and drinking enough water for our overall health. Make sure your meals include all the nutrients your body needs. Limit the consumption of processed food as much as possible.
3. Simplify and prioritize your schedule
Make a list of your tasks and determine the most important ones. For this you can use the ABCDE method which consist of “rating” your tasks from A (very important and urgent) to E (tasks you can eliminate)
Learning how to simplify and prioritize your to do list will help you avoid burnouts and frustration.
4. Spend time alone
As women, we are always surrounded by family’s members, job obligations and other stimuli. Spending time alone will help you relax and focus on yourself. You would be surprised at how relieved you will feel afterward.
Use this time alone to practice self-care or any activity that you enjoy.
5. Learn how to say “NO”
Saying no when you don’t want to do something or can’t do something for someone else is a way of valuing yourself.
The world won’t stop if you say no. Setting boundaries is a must for your well-being.
Here are some ways to say No:
- I have another commitment
- Thanks for thinking of me but I can’t
- I’m sorry, I can’t
- I have something else going on
6. Get enough sleep
Regardless of age, quality sleep is crucial to maintain a proper metabolism and to have enough energy for the day. Aim for 7 to 10 hours of sleep daily. Of course is not always easy to fall asleep but here are two tips to help you:
- Stop using your phone 1,5 hours before bed
- Eat your dinner before 8pm
7. Do more of the things that you love
This point is sooo important. Schedule a moment at least once a week to focus only on yourself and do something that YOU love.
Find a few hobbies you enjoy to relax your mind
8. Practice self-care
Women tend to have a lot of responsibilities which can lead to stress and anxiety. Practicing self-care daily is super important for your mental well-being.
To be able to help others, be productive at work, you first need to take care of your mental and physical health.
9. Journaling
Yes! I’m talking about journaling again but it’s only because journaling is one of the best mental health self-care practices you can do for yourself. Each day take a few minutes to write down your thoughts and emotions.
Journaling has many benefits like reducing stress, anxiety and symptoms of depression.
If you don’t know how to start I’ve made a blog post where you can find 100 prompts for journaling.
10. Stay away from social media
Social media itself is not a bad thing. The problem is so many people waste a lot of their time scrolling as it just becomes a habit. If you find yourself constantly scrolling and comparing yourself or your life to others it’s a sign that you should take a break from it.
Incorporating healthy habits into your life is the key to enhance physical, mental and emotional well-being. Putting yourself first is not selfish, it’s a necessary investment for a better and happier life.
